Our most recent residency PLAY , saw us return to the beautiful Broomfield Hall in Somerset, where we hosted a more intimate trip for mixed years of the UWE Photography BA. The two days were an exciting opportunity for the students to create freely - encouraging resourcefulness and innovation, and offering the chance to feel refreshed and inspired by their surroundings. With this free reign, the students made an incredible range of work, inspired by the Broomfield Halls’ wacky interiors and expansive outside space using homemade costumes and props. This developed into a collaborative portrait workshop, and as the residency ended, we conducted a group crit session, where the students had an opportunity to show the work they had created and if they wished, gain feedback on ongoing or potential projects. This residency ended on a reflective note, leaving students feeling recharged and with a renewed confidence for the year ahead.
